Circuit Breaker

The new unit is designed as a replacement for the Otter Controls Ltd (OCL) 4

pole circuit breaker. The design is based around an ETA 1610-21 8 amp thermal circuit breaker. This is a well proven device in the automotive industry carry all the essential approvals. The characteristic of these circuit breakers closely matches the operation of the OCL unit.

In order to maintain the same size as the OCL unit the trips will be reset individually (not all together as in the OCL unit). A benefit of this will be that a visual indication of the status of each trip is possible. When tripped a red button will appear on the top of the unit. If all 4 are tripped, 4 buttons will be visible. To reset any trip the button is pressed down manually and the button will then lie below the surface of the box.

The unit is moulded from black thermo plastic material of 1.5mm thickness for mechanical strength. It will be completely compatible mechanically with the OCL unit to prevent incorrect insertion into the vehicle socket. The connector pins will be manufacture for nickel-plated brass.
