GPS Logger

Electrica have just launched this new product.

Using leading edge technology Electrica is launching a logging system that can analyse a journey taken in a vehicle and with the sophisticated software unique to this product you can download this information onto your PC. Analysis is made easy with a menu driven programme allowing you to interrogate part or all of the information.

This easy to use route logger is plugged into a GPS system and can playback a route taken. Using a plug in plug out receptacle this is used to down load the information to a computer. A map of the route is automatically loaded onto the screen. Showing the route taken at street level.

GPS Logger can calculate mileage for journey or for overall use, to help with scheduling maintenance, calculating fuel consumption,

The GPS Logger can be pre programmed for the active times of the unit.
e.g. -
It could be programmed to only log between 7.30am and 6.00pm, and only on a weekday.
It is also possible to program the unit to start logging when the vehicle speed is greater than or less than user programmed speeds, or when the vehicle enters or leaves a particular area or location.
The rate at which data is logged (max once per second) can be set.

A menu driven analysis programme is then operated and crucial information can be seen of part of or all of a journey. The memory card can hold information for up to a week.

Extra facilities of the GPS logger are the capability of monitoring electrics and MPG used. These features are Ideal for fleet and transport managers.

Search for particular events, e.g.:
a) whenever the vehicle has been stationary for a certain time
b) whenever the programmed vehicle speeds have been exceeded
c) Calculate how long it has taken to get from one point to another, and peak/ average speeds
d) When vehicle electrics were operated, e.g. When the headlights were switched on.
e) when the brakes were applied
f) if the engine was running
g) GPS Logger can also show a graph of speed against time, and allow point & click to jump to areas of the journey. (Could show on the graph where pre-set speeds were exceeded or when vehicle was stationary).

For each of these, the mapping software will show where these events occurred.
